This morning at approximately 11am on November 11th, XFN infiltrated Fox Studios for the XF3 Army and Believe in the Future campaign.

Avi Quijada and Tiffany and Garrett Devol met with Michael Broidy from Fox publicity and spent an hour talking about the fandom, the show and both films including the possibility for a third film as it was XFN’s promise to the fandom to make sure their voices were heard.

Mr. Broidy was very kind as he too is a fan of the series and worked on the publicity for both feature films. He also added that he began watching The X-Files on September 10th, 1993 and never stopped.

Mr. Broidy was presented with 1,421 postcards on banners that when put together, stretch to 126 feet in length. He was also presented with 10lbs of Green Light XF3 M&Ms, several DVDs containing fan videos and an official DVD version of the XFN Place Project from 2008. Frankenbear also made an appearance and encouraged Mr. Broidy to attend the IBG event this Saturday.

What XFN is authorized to say at this time, is that the post card campaign is a great success in that Mr. Broidy shared that they often read comments from anonymous fans online, whereas in this campaign people took the time to create postcards and sign their actual names. He was also very impressed at the number of postcards submitted and during the meeting, several people walked by to admire them. He also went on to talk about how positive the postcards are in terms of thanking Fox for the show and asking for a third film. Part of the meeting included XFN being asked what fans would expect from a possible third X-Files feature film and whether or not the hard core fan base of the mid 90’s was still in existence. XFN responded that it is our belief that those fans are still in existence and that now, there are newer fans joining the fold and that a third film has the potential to be successful. XFN also released their statistics for the IWTB anniversary week and Mr. Broidy stated that he was fairly certain Home Entertainment knew about it but that he could not share specific sales numbers with us. Mr. Broidy assured us that he would pass along the postcards and wealth of information we supplied to the people that “make those kinds of decisions.”

XFN would also like to mention how rare of an opportunity it is for a fanbase to have access to studio executives, let alone a meeting that includes the type of in depth discussion of what the show was, is and possibly could be.

XFN would like to thank the Believe in the Future campaign, the XF3 Army and all of the worldwide organizations that supported this effort. Your voices have been heard and we want you to keep believing.

Keep up the fight! I sent my postcard, bought my DVD(s) and want that movie in 2012! (or sooner!) I began watching from the Pilot in 1993 and have watched my tennaged children become fans of the show watching my DVD's and reruns. We would all love that 3rd movie, would buy the tickets and the DVD's!

I do hope that the Doggett fanbase was well represented in this meeting too. I hope that FOX understands that most XF fans wouldn't mind seeing Doggett in XF3 if it gets the greenlight. What did you tell him fans wanted to see in XF3? I'm curious.
awesome!!
