I love the enthusiasm for XF that's being spread by the second phase XF3 video project. I love how many people are participating--especially new vidders! I commend everyone who's made a video or is going to make one--it's not a simple or easy task! Lots of work, lot's of ideas to come up with. And I've enjoyed what I've seen so far...

I'm going to have to agree with Pluto. Don't get me wrong, I'm a shipper at heart, but I suppose to a second degree. At the beginning, XF was about the plots and the conspiracy to me...I didn't jump on the ship board until late...and even then, I enjoyed the teasing CC/FS did, I never wanted the show to become about and M&S relationship outside of deep partnership (though, I fully supported them getting together in the end). For me, X-Files is about the cases. It's about the paranormal. It's about the government. It's about two brilliant FBI agents who would put their life on the line for the other. It's about devotion, to a cause and to each other. Most of the videos that are coming out though, are focusing on -just- the ship. While my shipper heart squees reminiscing at the scenes, I too am afraid the wrong message will be sent to CC/FS/FOX.
Personally, and I think a lot of Philes out there, want a 3rd X-Files movie as a conclusion. While I -LOVED- IWTB, I recognize that this was not your typical XF case. The movie put characters above plot, and the writers/actors did an excellent job of accurately portraying where those characters would be (6?) years after the end of the show. But to show IWTB to a causal XF watcher, or someone who's only seen a few episodes...is to give them the wrong impression of what the entire series was all about. FTF on the other hand, put plot above character, and incorporated a lot more of that core Season 3-5 feel. Government conspiracy, Aliens, a bond that extends even to the arctic! If you had only seen a few episodes, it's a movie that you could watch, fall in love with XF again, and then go back and watch the series over.
THAT is how I want the show to be concluded. With an FTF style movie--classic XF. Of course I'd love a few good shippy scenes in there, but I would honestly be upset if that was the focus of the movie.
I want CC/FS to know that...we don't just watch the show for the lovey-dovey. It's a bonus, yes, but not the focus, for most.
We have to find out the conclusion to the colonization!

Every fan vid is more proof for FOX that the fan base is huge, and I know you work hard to make these things.... but some of the vids I am seeing are just ridiculous.
Not necessarily the ones linked here, but some I saw elsewhere, associated with XF3 Army.
They really make me question the sincerity of your desire for XF3.
Fox Network needs to the see the Best of what XF really was! Not pornographic amalgamations with horrid Pop music that just happen to have Mulder and Scully's faces pasted all over it.
I am kinda embarrassed.
Everyone knows I speak my mind, usually with vitriol, but i do it because I LOVE the show so much.
But, really... is it impossible for the majority of you to do anything but recreate the same kissing-scene??
X-Files relationship arc: 10%.
X-Files mythology/conspiracy/alien/monsters: 90%
DO THE MATH! Heck, Amalgamate the Math even! Make a video that represents something else you love about the show, not just your desire to watch M and S kiss.
I have the the greatest admiration for you vidders who have enough creativity and sensibility to do something other than shipper videos.
If XF3 looks anything like these amagalmation-fails, I hope it never gets made.
