Top Ten Tuesdays: Deaths

Header

Over the years we’ve lost a lot of characters on The X-Files. Both Mulder and Scully have lost family members and friends, evil doers have got their comeuppance, but many innocents have been lost along the way as well. This week we look at ten of the most important, shocking, and downright devastating deaths of the nine seasons so far, read after the jump to see what made the list.

#XFScienceSundays: Spacetime and Warping

First and foremost, let me introduce myself to you. My name is Joselyn Rojas, medical doctor by profession, extreme phile by passion, known in the philedom as @JossaDosBichos. The purpose of the #XFScienceSundays segment is to rewatch selected episodes from The X-Files analyzing them in regards to specific aspects of science – physics, chemistry, biology and medicine – and discuss possible explanations for the events shown there.

In this first Sunday of this segment, on April 19th – 2015, we watched “Dreamland I” [S06E04], “Dreamland II” [S06E05] and “Monday” [S06E14], a 3-episode-arc which are actually interconnected because of the events that occur in them.

Entertainment Weekly’s Look into The X-Files Revival

1370 ew jul32015Don’t call it a reboot! Never call it a reboot.

Jeff Jensen from Entertainment Weekly had the pleasure to sit down with Chris Carter, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny to talk a bit about the upcoming X-Files Revival… or, should we call it “Season 10”? They even talk to Joel McHale about his excitement of being part of this great opportunity.

Among many juicy details, we get the actors’ and Carter’s impressions about coming back to The X-Files in the age of Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook. In a time post 9/11. With old and new fans. You also get to see a great display of pictures from set.

Likewise, you get the truth behind Scully’s hair, a clue into their current relationship status and even the name of Gillian Anderson’s dog.

What we truly appreciate from this article was the knowledgeable way Jensen went about this opportunity, being a fan himself of the show. You’re also served with ten episodes that should prepare you for the upcoming spread of new X-Files, and a look into the items of Mulder’s home office.

EW Exclusive: A First look of Mulder & Scully’s Revival

The goodies are starting to come out and we couldn’t be more excited!

As we’d reported last week, Jeff Jensen from Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive first look into the revival of The X-Files. This is the scoop.

According to their article:

On an abandoned farm on the outskirts of Vancouver B.C., we found paranormal detectives Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) investigating the curious case of a possible alien abductee (played by Annet Mahendru of The Americans) at the behest of a most curious ally, the host of a conservative talk show (Community’s Joel McHale). Of course, the last time we saw our heroes (the 2008 feature film The X-Files: I Want To Believe), Mulder and Scully were out of the bizarre-adventures business. He was living on the fringe, she was a doctor working at a Catholic hospital; they were sometimes lovers who just wanted the weird world to leave them alone. Much has changed for them since then.

“Mulder’s not in a great place,” says Duchovny, looking shabby in gray tee, shoes without shoelaces, and much stubble. “He’s wearing bad jeans, so you can just extrapolate from my wardrobe. He’s in a dark, dark place.”

Scully’s looking more put-together in a skirt suit and high heels. “I like where we find Mulder and Scully in their relationship,” says Anderson, adding that she’s equally engaged by the political resonance of the story Chris Carter has conceived for the revival. “I also like the area of zeitgeist that we step in to. It’s on point and raises some very interesting issues. And question marks.

Carter — whose original series tapped into the anxious strains of 1990s culture — says the new series is inspired by new century concerns. “The X-Filesended right after 9/11,” says Carter. “A lot has happened since then. A lot of rollback of rights and liberties in the name of our protection. We’re being spied on now, we’re being lied to — all things that, for me, remind me of when I grew up, which was right around Watergate. I think we’re in similar and much more dire times right now.”

Other details included in the article confirm that Darin Morgan will pen a MOTW titled “Mulder and Scully Meet The Were-Man”. You can read the whole article here. And don’t forget to pick up a copy, or two, from newstands on June 26th.

Aerial Video from the Blieberger Farm in Langley

You may remember this sight from The X-Files: I Want To Believe, the unremarkable house as it’s known by many of the X-Philes. Here’s an aerial video from Aerobotika of the farmlands including a sight of the house that passed as the exteriors of the house where Mulder and Scully lived at.

Also {spoiler} this is the location mentioned in our previous article [Spoiler] 10×01 – Leaked Location Map – where it’s still listed as Mulder/Scully house.{/spoiler}
