William B. Davis Confirms Return of Cigarette-Smoking Man And More.

What we’ve been hearing unnoficially for some time, we now have it confirmed officially from the man himself: TV’s favorite villain is back! Design & Trend has the scoop. Davis has mentioned in an interview with Dan of Geek that the man is coming back for the show’s 6-episode revival. “I am definitely in some of the episodes and I am definitely on the first episode.”

Davis says Chris Carter is keeping secret as to what way he will appear in the episode, but he is definiltely in. Some might be surprised by the return of the Smoking Man, but we all know that one really dies in The X-Files. “As an actor it’s good for me, it’s good for my career and it’s stimulating. I had no hesitation, I would have been quite disappointed if the show had been done without me and I think a lot of fans would have been disappointed as well” said Davis.

Davis also hints as to what we can expect out of Mulder and Scully’s relationship: {spoiler}”I asked Chris if Mulder and Scully were a couple like they were at the end of the series and the indication was no, they were apart. Now whether they’ve been a couple or separated or if they go back in time they’ve never been a couple, I don’t know. It seems like it’s going to be a somewhat different take than the finale left us in.”{/spoiler}

The X-Files Rewatch!

052815 aq rewatch

The guys at Reverb Press came up with a great idea: what to do until January 24th, 2016. As you all know, the new episodes of The X-Files begin to air that Sunday just after the AFC game, on FOX. Really, they’ve figured it all out.

Starting on July 4th, 2015, you have 204 days to rewatch all the original episodes and two X-Files movies. They’ve created a calendar for it, and XFN will be joining in the fun! Stay tuned for our own calendar that will note which episodes we will be rewatching and live-tweeting via our Twitter feed, and which will be added to the comeback of our SkypeFiles community.

It’s a great time to be an X-Phile! Check out the original planning from Reverb Press and check in with us in a few weeks for our XFN Community plans!

Review: The X-Files: Season 10 #24

The X-Files: Season 10 #24 CoverThis month, the 24th issue of The X-Files: Season 10 starts off in New York City, at 46th street to be exact… And you know what that means. We step into the First Elder’s explanation of what the syndicate was then, and what it is now. He’s explaining this to someone, from the shadows of this familiar room. Gibson Praise has forced this new conspiracy on them. They’re serving a system that no longer cares for a hierarchy and they’re at the mercy of Gibson’s trigger happy destructive character.

Featured Video – Fancy

This week’s Fanvid Friday feature is so fancy, it nearly caused an international XFN incident. With two XFN staffers ready to rock, paper, scissors for who got to post this week’s tribute to Dana Scully, the countdown to midnight began. After all, what kind of professionals would we be if we posted Fanvid Friday on Thursday? (shhhh west coast)

Fancy is brought to you by Snakey973 and is perhaps one of the most perfect Scully anthems to ever grace YouTube. As we anxiously await #XFilesRevival, let’s break out some tambourines and lace up our Reeboks cause it’s about to get Fancy.
